Street Level Drug Interdiction Class

Street level drug dealers are the most destructive dealers to a neighborhood. Street dealers and drug houses are the most visible drug dealers to the public. This course will instruct the student on different investigative techniques to target these street level drug dealers and drug houses. The student will learn how to identify and then establish probable cause to search and arrest these drug dealers, without buying drugs. The course will teach the student about Knock and Talks techniques on drug houses and the use of social media in drug investigations. The course will also cover testifying in court on these types of cases. The investigative techniques taught can be used by plainclothes officers, uniformed officers or with them working together.

The instructor for the class will be Brian Sallee. Brian is a detective with the Albuquerque Police Department and has over 38 years of police experience and has spent 30 years working narcotics. He has provided training to police officers from all 50 states as well as foreign police officers. Brian does expert witness in criminal cases assisting the prosecution and civil cases assisting officers being sued. He has co-authored two books Narcotics Investigations: Working and Surviving and The Methamphetamine Handbook: What You Need to Know.
