KEVIN FITZPATRICK
Kevin Fitzpatrick retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriffs' Office as a Lieutenant in Tampa, FL. as a Lieutenant after 29 years of service.
During his tenure with the Hillsborough County Sheriffs' Office he received numerous awards and commendations including Deputy of the year, as well as, The Distinguished Performance Award, The Life Saving Award, and the Departments Medal of Distinguished Service for valor shown in a shootout with an armed suspect.
Kevin was assigned to the Narcotics office as an undercover detective and supervisor of the Narcotics/Vice unit for over 15 years. During that time he personally made and participated in thousands of undercover buys, hundreds of search warrants, joint investigations with the FBI and DEA, including operations Gulf stream II and Operation Cookie He was a participant in and an instructor for the Florida Sheriffs' Crack Task Force and participated in numerous drug buys, hundreds of arrests and was a participant in numerous Patrol and Highway interdiction cases made with that task force. He has participated in numerous major undercover and wiretap investigations, some of which proved to be most successful in Florida history during that time.
Kevin has been a certified instructor since 1982. He is considered to be an expert in the field of undercover operations, surveillance techniques and numerous other drug and narcotic related topics. Kevin has taught hundreds of classes during that time throughout the United States and its' territories. He is currently and instructor for M.C.T.F.T. He has been an instructor for the DEA, R.O.C.I.C., L.E.C.C. numerous HIDTA training centers, The Tampa Police Academy and Hillsborough Community College. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of South Florida as well as other colleges throughout the country. In addition he has been a guest speaker at schools from the elementary through the High School level. He has taught at numerous State Narcotic Officers conferences and provided training in all 50 states as well as the U.S. territories for Federal, State and local Police agencies and Sheriffs' Offices.
Kevin has received numerous commendations for his training from Federal, State and local agencies and received the Arkansas Travelers award from then Governor Bill Clinton, for his assistance in drug training in that state, and was the first recipient of the Presidents Choice Award given by the Association of Oklahoma Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association along with one of his co-instructors. Kevin is a past president of the Florida Narcotic Officers' Association and has served as the state liaison to the National Narcotic Officers Association. He is currently the Training Chairman for the Florida Narcotics Officers Association.
