Kevin B. Salzman



Kevin B. Salzman is the County Attorney for Ford County, Kansas, a position he has held since 2017. In 2020, Kevin became the first person in over 20 years to be elected to a second term as Ford County Attorney. Kevin supervises a staff of three assistant county attorneys, five victim services advocates, and a support staff of seven legal assistants. Under Kevin’s leadership, the office prosecutes approximately 800 felony and misdemeanor cases each year.

Kevin began his career in prosecution in 2011 as an assistant county attorney with the Ford County Attorney’s Office. There, Kevin helped prosecute everything from simple traffic infractions to cases involving charges of murder, rape, and the distribution of drugs. After serving as an assistant county attorney in Gray County, Kansas and Pawnee County, Kansas, Kevin successfully ran for and was elected county attorney of Ford County in 2016.

Kevin graduated magna cum laude from Cincinnati Christian University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. He studied law at Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2010 with concentrations in civil and criminal litigation skills.

Kevin is a member of the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee and Best Practices Committee. He is also a member of the National District Attorneys Association’s Legislative Committee, the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, and the Kansas Narcotics Officer’s Association. He was recognized as the KNOA 2019 Prosecutor of the Year.

Kevin teaches classes in the areas of courtroom preparation and testimony, expert witness testimony, and writing reports, affidavits, and warrants.
